The Sydney Tweed Ride report – part 1 – thank you’s

Well Sunday was the big day and what a BIG day it turned out to be! So many riders and everyone just looking so fabulous.

Throughout the week I’ll be sharing photos, news coverage and tales from the day but right now it’s time for the Thank you’s.*

The Daily Tweed – Made to Measure exhibition by Treadlie

Just to add to the fun this weekend Treadlie mag are bringing their Made to Measure Exhibition to Sydney.

We’ve contacted bicycle builders from all over the country; professionals, gifted amateurs, artists and dreamers, and put together eighteen fabulous bicycles of all persuasions for a four day bike-drooling fest! From now until late July, sheds and workshops around the country will be busy with welding and sawing, paint will be spattered, grease will be flying, there’ll be cussing, tantrums and at the end of it all, pride, maybe even a tear, a beautiful bike, and a darn good story.

The Daily Tweed – pop up shop!

The Tweed Outfitters Pop up shop has arrived at MC Cyclery 230 Clarence St Sydney.

A selection of op shop finds (at op shop prices) are available alongside capes and caps from Rocket Fuel, gorgeous vintage looking bikes and other pieces that will enable you and your bike to look smashing on the day.

Drop by on Saturday when we turn the pop up shop into a tailoring space and get your trousers turned into a pair of plus fours.

Don’t forget you’ll need a basket to carry your picnic with you on the day and a tie for the fastest tying competition.

Or how about a dashing leather satchel from Brooks who have also offered 2 saddles and matching grips as part of the prizes on the day.

We couldn’t let Cadel Evans historic win go past without a salute. It has been a great tour of highs and lows and champions of all nations battling it out for the win, truly inspiring.

Today we’re sharing yet another D.I.Y for the Tweed Ride, yes there has been a lot of D.I.Y’s lately but it’s so fun to be crafty and there is a prize up for grabs at the Tweed Games for most crafty touch to an outfit so get crafting!
